SACRAMENTAL POLICY

Infant Baptism: Canon Law requires that parents and sponsors “…are to be instructed properly on the meaning of the sacrament and the obligations attached to it…” therefore we require parents and sponsors to attend Baptism preparation classes. These classes are conducted once a month in English and Spanish. Parents then need to meet with the pastor/deacon to discuss baptism, their faith, and to set the date for the baptism. Parents need to be active and registered in the parish for at least 3 months prior to the date of baptism. Those that live outside of the parish need a letter of permission from your pastor.

Baptism of Children over 7: Children must be registered in the Religious Education class for First Communion, or if in grade 4 and above, must be registered in an age appropriate class, as well as in a class for Sacramental Prep. According to the Rites of the Roman Catholic Church, these children receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion at the Easter Vigil. Parents need to be active and registered within the parish for at least 3 months. They also need to attend a Baptismal Preparation class and meet with the Pastor.

Godparents: It is ideal that Godparents also take the baptismal classes along with the parents. Godparent's, according to the Universal Law of the Catholic Church, must be of 16 years of age, have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, and if married, they are married within the Catholic Church. Non-Catholics cannot be a Godparent, but can be a witness with the Godparent to the Baptism.

All Baptisms will celebrated during weekend Masses, in the language of Mass; therefore the parents and godparents must be able to understand that language. Parents and Godparents must be at the Church a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the beginning of Mass: if you are late, the baptism will be rescheduled for a later date.

Para los enfantes: El Bautismo del niño: la Ley del Canon requiere que padres y padrinos "deberán ser instruidos apropiadamente en el significado del sacramento y las obligaciones conectados a…" por lo tanto requerimos padres y a padrinos a asistir las clases de la preparación del Bautismo. Estas clases se conducen una vez al mes en inglés y español. Los padres entonces necesitan reunirse con el pastor/diácono para discutir el bautismo, su fe, y para poner la fecha para el bautismo. Los padres necesitan ser activos y registrados en la parroquia por lo menos 3 meses antes de la fecha del bautismo. Los que viven afuera de la parroquia necesitan una carta de permiso de su propio pastor.

El bautismo de Niños que tienen 7 años: Niños deben ser registrados en la clase Religiosa de la Educación para Primera Comunión, o si en el grado 4 y arriba, deben ser registrados en una edad apropia de clase, así como también en una clase para preparación sacramental. Según los Ritos de la Iglesia Católica romana, estos niños reciben los Sacramentos del Bautismo, la Confirmación y la Primera Comunión en la Vigilia de Pascua. Los padres necesitan ser activos y registrados dentro de la parroquia por lo menos 3 meses. Ellos necesitan también asistir una clase de Preparación bautismal y reunir con el Pastor.

Padrinos: Sea mejor que los Padrinos tomaron los clases de preparación para el Bautismo con los padres. Los Padrinos, por la ley universal de la Iglesia Católica, necesiten tener más de 16 años, han celebrado los Sacramentos del Bautismo, Comunión y Confirmación, y si casado, son casado por la iglesia. Los que no son Católicos no puedan ser los padrinos, pero ellos puedan ser los testigos con los padrinos a la Bautismo.

Los celebraciones de los Bautismos estan a la misas normales, en la idioma de la misa propia: por eso, los padres y los padrinos necesitan comprender la idioma de la celebración..
Los padres y los padrinos necesitan llegar al templo un minimo de 15 minutos antes la misa. Si ellos estan tarde, vamos a hacer una nueva fecha para el bautismo.

Marriage: One of the couples needs to be registered in parish, and both meet with the priest 6 months minimum before any wedding date. No reservations should be made until meeting with the priest!

El Sacramento de Matrimonio. Uno de la parejas necesitan estar registrado en la parroquia, y los ambos necesitan hacer una cita con el pastor o el díácono un minimo de 6 meses antes la fecha de una boda. Las parejas no deben de hacer una reserva hasta el reunion con el pastor o el diácono.

Quinceañara: Young lady needs minimum 3 months preparation, attending religious education/confirmation. All celebrations will be during Sunday Eucharist, there will be NO private Mass.
